My last post actually reminds me of something I saw some time ago.

I searched for several hours then on what I could find and in the end I found all te slices of the man at a resolution of 3720 on 2200. I tried to make the same system in max as Kai here did with blender but my maxscripting skills suck so I gave up.

whaaat , this is mental. This is now on my list of things to try someday.
I actually think this is very ugly but I like the idea of making an animation this way.
